ABOUT US
The South African Vaccination and Immunisation Centre (SAVIC) was established in 2003. It is a network of partners in the field of vaccination, immunisation and vaccine-preventable diseases, and is an academic-public alliance between the University of Limpopo, and the University of Antwerp, Belgium, with the South African Department of Health.
The vision of SAVIC is to improve the health of future generations by strengthening immunisation programmes and services.

Amongst specific objectives, SAVIC aims to:

disseminate up-to-date information about vaccine-preventable diseases;

support and strengthen the South African Expanded Programme on Immunisation, i.e. EPI-SA, and other relevant programmes of the South African Department of Health;

collaborate and share resources with local, regional and global agencies, alliances and other partners.
The SAVIC website aims to be the prime source of information for promoting awareness of vaccine-preventable diseases, supporting local and regional immunisation initiatives and promoting the use and benefits of vaccines.
The target audience for the website includes, but is not limited to:
